Shed re-felting services from Reading Handyman
We often get asked if we can re-felt peoples sheds, in fact shed refelting is one of our most requested services. Maybe because the job is too small for roofing companies or maybe because people know that the job doesn’t warrant a full days work in most cases. Whatever the case may be we are here to help.
Shed Re-felting
We offer re-felting services for sheds, summerhouses, workshops, wendy houses and any outbuilding that uses felt for protection. The existing fascia/barge boards will be taken off and the old felt removed. We will then re-felt your building with heavy duty felt. The original fascia/barge boards will then be refitted. New fascia/barge boards can also be supplied if required so please let us know if you need this prior to booking our shed re-felting service We only use heavy duty felt purely because it will outlast cheaper alternatives and can supply felt in green, black or red colour. For a small fee we can also take away old felt and dispose of it properly

How To Re-Felt A Shed Roof
To refelt a shed, we’ll start by removing the old roofing felt together with old fascia boards, old nails, and clearing the roof surface. Measure and cut new roofing felt to fit the dimensions of the shed roof, leaving a slight overhang. Smooth out any wrinkles and secure the felt along the edges and seams using a staple gun or clout nails. Trim any excess and re-install fascia boards. Refelting ensures continued protection against the elements and extends the shed’s lifespan.
